This snifter air intake valve with a sealing cap from Campbell is designed for shallow and deep-well reciprocating pump installations. It admits air into pumps on pneumatic water systems. When the pump shuts off, this threaded valve allows air to enter into the line so that water can drain back to its source, thus preventing the water line from freezing. This brass valve also helps reduce the head pressure to make it easier for the pump to start. The lead-free brass construction makes it a rust-resistant and durable air valve. Note: This snifter air valve is manufactured to include no more than 0.25 percent weighted average lead content on wetted surfaces.
